Something to wear, something to smell, something to send. Valentine’s Day gifts that I would love, and your partner just might love too! From Jo Malone bath oil to a chocolate bouquet, happy love day 🙂

Saying that, we don’t always celebrate Valentine’s Day and only occasionally celebrate it with gifts. I think one gift is sweet enough, it’s the whole charade of 1243434 gifts and competing for who got what that takes away what it’s really about it.

Let me tell you a little story…. The year we got married, I really thought he had bought me my wedding shoes for Valentine’s Day – you know, saving money – two birds, one stone, and all that. There I was expecting to see a Jimmy Choo box and it was a bloody iPad mini. I mean, wtf? I’m so not techy or into that kind of thing, pass me a book and I’m happy for hours. And guess who uses the iPad? Jonathan! Moral of the story – he could have spent £5 on flowers instead and I’d have loved them. It’s not how much you spend.

SOMETHING TO WEAR

I have the Rosie for Autograph dressing gown in black and oh my goodness, I live in it. Literally. It’s so thick, soft and snuggly and just like the dressing gowns you find in hotels. It also has a generous fit and comes with a hood. I’m waiting for it to come back in stock in black so I can buy Jon one too! The personalised dressing gown with his initial is great too, but Jon wants mine with a hood!

SOMETHING TO SMELL

Perfume is lovely and appreciated but I also love bath scents – Jo Malone bath oil and Laura Mercier creme. I still have my pot of the Laura Mercier bath creme in Fresh Fig and I love it, and I have always used the red rose bath oil by Jo Malone. Now the Jo Malone London Men’s Cologne Collection isn’t something my husband would like but I still think it’s such a cute gift and different to a bottle of traditional aftershave!

SOMETHING TO SEND

Flowers are a girls best friend. Forget diamonds, I’m a flower girl and always have been. Peonies are my absolute fave but they aren’t in season, so my choice would be a bunch of wildflowers or rustic roses mixed with greenery (I’m not fussy on the greenery). But what can you send him in the post? I once sent Jon cupcakes to work, he liked that, but you could also send lunch from Deliveroo, or a chocolate bouquet!
