I was recently sent the Madame LA LA West Coast Face Bronzing Serum to review which I am genuinely quite excited about for a few reasons: A) I love a good fake tan B) I haven’t yet found ‘the one’ designed specifically for the face and C) It contains coco water and green tea.
It also contains ingredients to help with anti-aging, what’s not to love?
So, this weekend I tried and tested it and fell in love…and here is why:
Scent: Even before applying the bronzer, I pumped a small amount in the lid just to get a whiff of that gorgeous scent. It reminds me of fruity cocktails and long summer days; a fresh scent, subtly exotic and delicious.
Texture: It has quite a thick consistency, almost a gel but not quite. I like the thickness though as it distributes a good amount of tan without needing two, three or four coats.
Colour: The tinted formula makes it so much easier to apply. Think a rich, dark chocolate colour.
Application: After cleansing/exfoliating, dispense a pea sized amount and smooth with finger tips over the forehead, right up to the hairline. Repeat to complete the face and neck. I used gloves but as with all tanning products, wash hands immediately.
Final Result: A gorgeous deep, sun-kissed look. Probably the best face bronzer I’ve used. I love it. But it also left my skin hydrated, soft and visibly brighter.
One thing I’ll mention is the fact that it is quite a dark colour and while I initially just applied it to my face and neck, the next day it just didn’t match the rest of my body. I didn’t have the full body tan and I didn’t want to mix it with a different brand in case the shades clashed, so I actually used this the following evening on the rest of my body. I recommend you buy it to use alongside the full body tan so you don’t have this problem.
I would also apply at night and wash off any excess tan in the morning rather than applying and leaving it on throughout the day.
It also doesn’t contain any SPF, so make sure you still apply it daily. Which I’ll be doing this summer! I hide my face from the sun with large floppy hats and an extremely high SPF, which means my face is often a few shades lighter than the rest of my body. This face bronzer is the perfect solution and means my body can now match my face.
You can buy Madame LA LA West Coast Face Bronzing Serum online for £28. It will also be launching at Fenwick Bond Street later this month, in addition to feelunique.com and HQ hair.
