Glistening turquoise water, a gentle breeze and the freshest fish caught that very morning; lunch at Dimitri's on Amoudi Bay is a memory I'll cherish forever. This is the view of Amoudi Bay as you enter; a glorious retreat from bustling Oia. We had to wait quite a long time for the taxi down to the bay from Oia, therefore I recommend you book one ahead or brave the scorching heat and walk down the designated pathway. We seated ourselves front row at Dimitri's, an adorable and charming little rustic restaurant situated at the far end of Amoudi Bay. The location also means that you won't have other diners walking past your table endlessly like the neighbouring restaurants. You'll feel like you're sitting on the sea; the setting is incredible and so relaxing for a peaceful lunch but I can imagine it's also the perfect spot for a romantic dinner too. I could have sat and gazed over the crystal clear water all day but we were invited to go and select our fish options from the morning catch, it doesn't get much better than this. We ordered a selection of swordfish, calamari, aubergine, tzaztiki and greek salad, a delightful feast of the freshest seafood cooked to perfection. Following a perfect lunch we took a gentle stroll along the bay and ordered a taxi to collect us. You could, if you're ready for a bumpy ride, take a donkey back up to Oia!
