Earlier in the year we visited Prague and was pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Prague has always intrigued me – it looks romantic and charming yet I had always heard it was packed with hen parties and stag dos. I can happily say that we didn’t see any rowdy drunk behaviour and it was a wonderful city break.

WHERE TO STAY

We stayed at La Ballerina Hotel which is centrally located, within walking distance of most tourist attractions and yet far enough that you’re not in the centre of it all. The decor is, as you can imagine, focused on ballet, but it’s kept stylish and tasteful without being gimmicky.

As boutique hotels go, this is a hidden gem with spacious rooms, luxurious bathrooms and everything you need for a romantic weekend away. The staff really stand out for me – the concierge and breakfast staff were all helpful, welcoming and attentive.

I loved the adjoining restaurant, San Carlo, which served a plentiful breakfast and authentic Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner.

La Ballerina is the perfect five star, design hotel for romantic city breaks in Prague – I highly recommend it.

WHAT TO DO

The Old Town Square is perfect for a romantic evening stroll – you’ll hear musicians playing, smell delicious crepes cooking and see the picturesque square lit up during sunset.
Charles Bridge is the perfect place to stop, have a coffee and watch the world go by.

The John Lennon wall is fun – go check it out!

WHERE TO EAT

There is nothing fancy about Cantina, it’s a vibrant Mexican restaurant with good food and a fun atmosphere!
BEEF Bar Prague serves pretty much what you would expect – quality steak and burgers! Those chunky chips were pretty amazing too. I loved the modern design of this restaurant – it’s great for a bite to eat while shopping.
This is a bit of a tourist trap as it’s right next to the Old Town Square but Ristorante Pizzeria Giovanni served a great lasagne!
