The Help – Read it before you watch it!

The Help is one of those books that you know in years to come you will remember, well I certainly will.  Set in the 1960’s in Mississippi during the civil rights movement, the story explores the relationship between black maids and white families uncovering issues of cruelty, mistrust, love and friendship.  I loved this book and read it within a week. The only negative I found is that the tone is quite ‘airy’ in some parts and didn’t illustrate enough how difficult and hard times really were, focusing quite heavily on stereotypes. Nonetheless, it’s an incredible book and I would definitely reccomend reading The Help before you watch it at the cinema!

Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tan Moisturiser

I’ve tried and tested all kinds of fake tanning products with hues from orange to mahogany- and everything in between!

But sometimes exfoliating, moisturising and maintaining a fake tan is just too much hassle. So, out comes the gradual tanner and in this case, the Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tanning Moisturiser.

As the name suggests, it’s a moisturiser that will develop to a lovely bronzed glow after only a few applications. The smell is absolutely gorgeous, exactly like the original cocoa butter, which is far nicer than the typical biscuit scent from most fake tans.

It’s also really easy to apply, soft and gentle on the skin and sinks into the skin really well. The colour is more of a sun-kissed glow rather than a dark tan but it can be built up to achieve a more bronzed look.

The only other gradual tan I like to use is by St Tropez but the Palmers version is much more affordable at only £3.99 per bottle.

Frost French Floozie Bikinis for Petite Ladies

As we have been blessed with another lovely day of sunshine, today I am wearing my fave bikini from the Frost French Floozie collection.  Think girlie frills, ruffles and cute prints combined with a well-structured fit, perfect for smaller ladies!

Frost French Floozie bikinis fit amazingly and are made really well. I highly recommend trying the brand if you’re petite and want to have a push up bikini without any padding.

They have a range of designs and styles but my favourites are the halter designs that can also be strapless.

You can buy Frost French bikinis from Debenhams stores and online.
